James Yoniak
Co-Owner · Estimating & Field Operations
Certified Artificial Turf Installer · OSHA 30 Training
James brings more than 10 years of landscape construction experience to Hammer Landscapes. Before helping launch the company, he spent five years in project management with a large local landscaping company. Earlier in his career, he worked as a project manager in the Bluffton and Hilton Head area of South Carolina, building on several years of experience as a superintendent.
Throughout his career, James has handled complete installations from bare dirt to the finished product. His experience spans high schools, neighborhood entrances, amenity centers, pickleball and bocce ball courts, putting greens, retirement communities, apartment complexes, strip malls, plantation entrances and roadways, multiple Marriott properties and other hotels, fast-food restaurants, office parks, warehouse buildings, public parks, and highway entrances.
He brings that same hands-on approach to custom homes and residential properties—from replacing a customer’s sprinkler head to a complete landscape installation or renovation. Across projects of every size, James understands how to bring the outdoor scope together from start to finish.
That background gives James a practical understanding of what it takes to turn a set of plans into a finished landscape. At Hammer, he connects estimating and project budgeting with day-to-day field operations, coordinating crews, materials, and installation with a focus on clear communication and quality workmanship.
Outside of work, James is a proud father of two: Kolton, 7, and Stella, 11. When he’s not in the office or out in the field, you’ll find him cheering them on at softball games, attending school events, and enjoying his favorite role—being their dad.
